How a photo becomes a part number
- 01You send a photoThe failed hardware, the door it is mounted on, and the ship-to zip code. Close enough to read any stamped marking is ideal, but send what you have.
- 02We identify and specMake, model and function from the markings, the mounting pattern and the dimensions. Then the correct current replacement with the right grade, handing and finish.
- 03You get a written quoteSame business day, with the part number, the specification, the price and the lead time on it. Approve it and it ships direct.
Before you send
What makes an identification fast
- A photo of the hardware itself. Most commercial hardware carries a stamped or cast marking on the body, the faceplate or under the cover.
- A photo of the whole door. It tells us the opening type, the swing and often the handing without you having to work it out.
- The ship-to zip code. It decides which warehouse ships and therefore the lead time.
- How many you need. Identical doors usually take the identical part, and the price improves with quantity.
- Whether it has to match existing keys. If yes, tell us the keyway. Keyed orders cannot be returned once cut, so we confirm this in writing first.
