Common questions

Do I need a part number?

No. Send a photo of the hardware and the door, plus the ship-to ZIP. Most commercial hardware carries a stamped or cast marking, and where it does not, the mounting pattern and dimensions are usually enough.

How fast does it arrive?

It depends on whether the part is stocked. Stocked lines ship by the next business day after payment, and next-day air is available on request; ground times by distance are on the shipping page. Most of the catalog is special order from the manufacturer, typically 4 to 6 weeks and sometimes longer, and the quote states the lead time before you pay.

Grade 1 or Grade 2?

Grade 1 is heavy duty commercial and belongs on main entrances, stairwells and high traffic openings. Grade 2 is lighter commercial duty for lower traffic interior doors. Grade 3 is residential and we do not sell it.

Can you match our existing keys?

Usually. Tell us the keyway and we quote cylinders keyed alike to your system, or across a group of new doors. Keyed orders are confirmed in writing and cannot be returned once cut.

Will you tell us if it meets code?

We tell you what a product is listed for and what its specification sheet says. We supply listed hardware and confirm in writing the part number and options you have chosen. We are not code consultants; your Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) makes the final call.
