How the part number is built

Every 2100 part number is built the same way: the model, then the device size for the door width, then the finish, then any option. 2100F-36-630 is the fire rated device for a door 30 to 36 in wide, in satin stainless steel.

The device ships exit only: outside trim, cylinder and any optional strike are separate part numbers, and Accentra ships device and trim in separate boxes. Rim devices are non-handed. A door thicker than 1-3/4 in goes on the order. Need a configuration that is not in the table, such as a 42 in device or 691 finish? Send us the part number and we quote it the same business day.

Will the Accentra 2100 fit my door?

The 2100 fits a single door, or a pair with a mullion, 30 to 48 in wide and 1-3/4 in thick as standard, in metal, wood or composite, with a stile at least 4-1/2 in wide.

Door width

Measure the door's opening width: a -36 device fits doors 30 to 36 in wide, -42 fits 36 to 42 in and -48 fits 42 to 48 in. The bar is cut square to the door on site.

Fire-rated door

Only the F versions carry the fire exit hardware listing: up to 3 hours on a single door up to 4 x 8 ft, or a pair up to 8 x 8 ft with an M200F mullion. The 2100F has no dogging, and Accentra's parts manual allows only fire-rated components on a fire-rated device.

Dogging for push-pull traffic

The panic 2100 dogs with a hex key: hold the bar in and turn the key a quarter turn clockwise, and the latch stays retracted until the key is turned back. Fire rated devices cannot be dogged.

Door and frame

Metal, wood or composite, with a stile at least 4-1/2 in wide. The device is packed for a reinforced metal door. A door or frame too thin to hold three full screw threads counts as unreinforced: Accentra calls for sex nuts and bolts in the door (SN-134 for the device) and blind rivet nuts in the frame, which it does not necessarily supply. The 2100F comes with sex nuts and bolts, and Accentra's parts manual recommends them on every exit device.

Door thicker than 1-3/4 in

Accentra supplies the 2100 for doors up to 3-1/2 in thick. Tell us the thickness; it goes on the order for the device and for the trim.

Raised molding on the door

The device must sit flat on the door, or on shims that keep it parallel to the door face. Accentra's instructions call for one shim kit 223 for each 1/8 in of raised molding, with longer mounting screws past two kits.

Pair of doors

Two 2100 devices with a removable steel mullion (M200, or M200F for a fire-rated pair), or a keyed removable mullion (KRM200). A fire-rated pair also takes the strike interlock bracket that comes with the fire mullion. Without a mullion, the optional 793 strike serves a panic pair only.

Outside trim and handing

The device is non-handed and ships exit only, packed ready for Accentra trim, which comes in its own box. Lever escutcheon trim is ordered by door hand (RHR or LHR), so tell us the hand when you order it. The 214F pull-only trim is not for fire exit devices.

Windstorm opening

The 2100WS and 2100FWS are components of a windstorm-rated door assembly, single door up to 3 x 7 ft, with the 757FWS strike. Accentra refers you to Ceco, Curries or Fleming for the door and frame requirements.

Replacing an old Yale 2100

Accentra's own page calls this the 2100 Series, formerly Yale 2100 Series. Send a photo of the device, the strike and the outside trim and we confirm the replacement part in writing before anything ships.

Code decisions belong to the AHJ

Exit devices on a path of egress and on fire-rated doors are covered by building and fire codes. Whether this device, and which rating, may go on your door is decided by your Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ). We supply listed hardware and confirm in writing the part number and options you have chosen; we do not decide code compliance.

How do I install the Accentra 2100?

The 2100 mounts on the inside face of the door, its horizontal centerline 39-15/16 in above the finished floor, marked from Accentra's plastic template, and latches into the 757F strike on the frame or mullion.

Mark the door

Horizontal centerline 39-15/16 in (1014 mm) above the finished floor; vertical reference 2-5/16 in (59 mm) from the stop face, or from the mullion face on a pair. The plastic template that comes with every 2100 seats on the door and stop faces.

Fasteners

Latch case: two 1/4-20 machine screws into a reinforced metal door, or 3/8 in diameter sex nuts and bolts. Strike: two 10-24 machine screws, or two #10 wood screws. A WS device takes four 1/4-20 screws in the latch case and four 10-24 screws in the strike.

Sizing the bar

The bar slides into the latch case, is cut square to the door width (up to 5-3/4 in can come off), and is clamped by the bottom end cap, fixed with two 1/4-20 screws or sex nuts and bolts.

Setting the strike

Set the 757F strike's projection with its locking plate and any shims, and its depth so the latchbolt is fully extended against the roller. The center screw that locks the strike in place is required on fire devices and optional on panic devices.

Check it works

Push the bar: the latch must retract, and extend when released. Work the outside trim the same way. On a panic 2100, dog the bar and check it stays in and the latch stays back, then undog it. The latched door should not rattle when pushed or pulled.

Maintenance

Accentra asks for a silicone-based lubricant on the mechanisms from time to time, especially in corrosive settings, a check that the mounting screws are tight, and strike adjustment as the door settles.

From Accentra's installation instructions for the 2100(F), 2150(F) and 1800(F) rim devices (80-9421-0000-000), the 2100(F)WS instructions (80-9421-0002-000) and the 2100 catalog (42135), all listed under Documents. Prepare the door and frame from Accentra's templates, not from this page.

What else does the Accentra 2100 need?

A 2100 needs nothing else on a single reinforced metal door: the 757F strike comes with it. These parts add outside trim, a key, a mullion for a pair, or clear molding and non-metal doors.

Questions about the Accentra 2100 Series Rim Exit Device

What is the difference between the Accentra 2100 and 2100F?

The 2100 is UL listed as panic hardware and has hex key dogging to hold the latch back. The 2100F is UL listed as fire exit hardware for doors rated up to 3 hours and has no dogging. Both come in the same sizes and finishes and take Accentra's 2100 trim, apart from the 214F pull-only trim, which is not for fire exit devices.

Which Accentra 2100 size do I need?

Size the 2100 by door width: 36 for doors 30 to 36 in wide, 42 for 36 to 42 in, and 48 for 42 to 48 in. The bar is cut to fit on site. A 36 in device is 32-3/8 in long overall with a 27 in push bar.

Is the Accentra 2100 the same as the Yale 2100?

Accentra is the name ASSA ABLOY now uses for what was Yale Commercial Locks, and Accentra's own page calls this the 2100 Series, formerly Yale 2100 Series. To replace an existing device, send us a photo of it, the strike and the outside trim and we confirm the part in writing.

Does the Accentra 2100 come with outside trim?

No, the 2100 ships exit only, packed ready for Accentra trim, which is a separate part number in its own box: cylinder-only night latch trim (121NL, with a rim cylinder), pull or night latch trim (213F, 214F, 217F), or lever and pull trim in the 420F, 440F, 540F, 580F, 620F and 630F series. Lever escutcheon trim is ordered by door hand, so tell us the hand.

What do the Accentra 2100 finish codes mean?

630 is satin stainless steel. 689 aluminum, 691 light bronze, 693 black and 695 dark bronze are painted finishes. 613E is dark oxidized satin bronze-equivalent and BSP is black suede powder coat. The finish follows the size in the part number, as in 2100-36-630.

Can the Accentra 2100 go on a fire-rated door?

Only the 2100F. Accentra lists it as fire exit hardware for doors rated up to 3 hours: a single door up to 4 x 8 ft, or a pair up to 8 x 8 ft with an M200F mullion. Accentra warns that changing part of a fire-rated opening can affect its rating. Whether a device may go on your door is decided by your local code official, the Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ).

What warranty does the Accentra 2100 carry?

Accentra gives the 2100 device a 3-year limited warranty. Trim carries its own: 1 year for 210F trim (213F, 214F, 217F) and 420F, 2 years for 440F, 3 years for 540F and 580F, and 5 years for 620F and 630F. If a device fails, tell us first; we route the claim and chase it.

How do I order the Accentra 2100?

  1. 1Choose the part number. From the table above, or send a photo of the door, the device and the strike and we identify what fits.
  2. 2We confirm it in writing. Door width, panic or fire rating, finish, door thickness, and any outside trim, door hand, cylinder and keying, with the total including shipping, the same business day.
  3. 3You approve and pay. Prepaid. No account and no minimum order. Unused stock items can be returned within 30 days with a 25 percent restocking fee; installed items and special orders cannot.
  4. 4It ships direct. From a US distributor warehouse, tracking on every box. Stocked items ship the same or next business day after payment; special-order parts are quoted with their lead time.
