Which Alarm Lock DL2700 part number do I need?

Choose the DL2700 with a key override cylinder, or the DL2700IC if the building uses interchangeable cores, adding the letter for a Schlage, Corbin Russwin, Sargent, Yale or Medeco core; then the finish. Mortise doors take the handed DL2700CR or DB, and the DL2700LD adds keyfob lockdown.

Every row is a real Alarm Lock part number. Prices in US dollars; stocked means a US distributor holds it and it ships the same or next business day after payment.

How the part number is built

Every DL2700 part number is built the same way: DL27 for the Trilogy T2 series, 00 for the standard straight lever, then LD, CR or DB for the version (with L or R for the hand of a mortise model), then IC for an interchangeable core prep, then the finish, then a letter for a special core prep. DL2700IC-26D-S is the interchangeable core model prepped for a Schlage core, in satin chrome.

Alarm Lock writes the finish after a slash, as DL2700IC/26D-S; distributors write DL2700IC-26D-S or DL2700IC26DS, and all three are the same part. Current ordering codes have no WP suffix, because every current model is weatherproof as standard. Doors over 1-7/8 in take an extended lock with a W suffix, such as W76 for a 3 in door, and on a Corbin Russwin or Yale prep tell us the core's pin count. Need a configuration that is not in the table? Send us the part number and we quote it the same business day.

Alarm Lock DL2700 outside housing 3-1/4 inches wide and 8 inches high with a 2-1/8 by 2-1/4 inch keypad and a 4-3/4 inch lever; side view on a 1-3/4 inch door, outside housing 1-7/8 inches deep, inside housing 1-11/16 inches deep, lever 2-9/16 inches from the door face
Alarm Lock DL2700 cylindrical lock, main dimensions (from the ALA129K spec sheet). The inside housing is 3-1/4 by 8-1/4 in; the DL2700CR and DB mortise trim is 3 by 11-1/16 in. Drill the door from Alarm Lock's template, not from this drawing.

Will the Alarm Lock DL2700 fit my door?

The cylindrical DL2700 fits doors 1-5/8 to 1-7/8 in thick with a standard 161 cylindrical prep at 2-3/4 in backset, plus the through-bolt holes on Alarm Lock's template; a 2-3/8 in backset, a thicker door and a mortise door each take their own part.

Replacing a cylindrical lock

The DL2700 retrofits a standard 161 cylindrical prep: a 2-1/8 in bore with a 1 in latch hole at 2-3/4 in backset. Alarm Lock's template WI838D adds two through-bolt holes above and below the bore, two more holes near the top of the housing and a wire hole.

Door thickness

1-5/8 to 1-7/8 in as standard. Alarm Lock makes extended locks for thicker doors and a spacer set, S6072, for doors 1-3/8 in or less. Tell us the thickness; it goes on the order.

2-3/8 in backset

The lock ships with a 2-3/4 in latch. A door bored at 2-3/8 in takes the S5980-1 latch, in 26D; tell us and we quote the two together.

Keying to your system

Standard models come with an SC1 keyway cylinder and spare tailpieces, so a Schlage, Corbin Russwin CL, Sargent 480, ASSA 65-611, Ilco or Lori key-in-knob cylinder from your system can be fitted instead. If the building uses interchangeable cores, order the DL2700IC with the prep for your core brand; the core is not included.

Outside door

Alarm Lock's current T2 series sheet says every Trilogy is weatherproof as standard, -31 to +151 °F (-35 to +66 °C). Its instruction sheet asks for the connectors to be sealed with dielectric grease (MX959) or the silicone lubricant supplied.

Door prepared for a mortise lock

Choose the DL2700CR (classroom function) or DL2700DB (deadbolt function). Both are handed, left or right, and field reversible, with a 1-3/8 in mortise cylinder and a 2-3/4 in backset. Tell us the door hand when you order.

Classroom lockdown

The DL2700LD adds a keyfob that puts the lock into lockdown and a red indicator bar on the inside of the door. During lockdown only master and manager codes open it from outside, and the inside lever still lets people out.

Letting people in remotely

The lock's two remote release wires take a normally open push button, for example at a desk. Alarm Lock's RR-TRILOGYKIT instead adds a desk-mount button and a receiver that fits in the battery compartment of a cylindrical Trilogy.

Fire-rated door

Alarm Lock lists the latchbolt as UL listed and fire rated for 3 hours, and its template marks a 1 in wire hole for fire-rated doors in a different place from the 7/8 in hole used on other doors. Whether the lock may go on your door is for your AHJ.

Replacing a failed DL2700

Tell us first. Alarm Lock warrants the lock for 24 months from its date of manufacture, and we take up a claim with the original invoice. To replace an older lock, send a photo of both sides of the door and the lock edge.

Code decisions belong to the AHJ

Locks on doors people exit through, on fire-rated doors and on classroom doors are covered by building and fire codes, and whether this lock and which model may go on your door is decided by your Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ). We supply listed hardware and confirm in writing the part number and options you have chosen; we do not decide code compliance.

How do I install and program the Alarm Lock DL2700?

The cylindrical DL2700 fits a 161 cylindrical prep with through-bolt holes drilled from Alarm Lock's template, runs on five AA batteries in the inside housing, and is programmed at its keypad once the factory master code is changed.

Drilling the door

Print template WI838D at full size and check its dimensions first, as Alarm Lock asks. It marks the 2-1/8 in bore and 1 in latch hole at 2-3/4 in backset, two 3/8 in through-bolt holes above and below the bore, two more 3/8 in holes near the top and the wire hole.

Wire hole on a fire-rated door

The template puts a 1 in hole 2-5/8 in above the bore centre on fire-rated doors. The 7/8 in hole 3-9/16 in above it is for doors that are not fire rated.

First start-up

Alarm Lock's instructions give a start-up sequence with the batteries disconnected, and nothing else can be programmed until the factory master code is changed. The new master code sets the length of every later code, 3 to 6 digits; Alarm Lock recommends 5 or 6.

Changing batteries

Five 1.5 V AA alkaline batteries; Alarm Lock's instructions name Duracell. Change all five together. The lock keeps its programming, but the three one-time service codes are lost whenever power is removed.

Optional wiring

Remote release: a normally open switch on the two white wires. Auxiliary relay: blue common, yellow normally open, green normally closed, 300 mA at 60 V DC maximum. External power: 7.5 V DC, at least 100 mA, black negative and red positive, from a UL listed supply with battery backup.

Outside doors

Seal every connector with dielectric grease (MX959) or the silicone lubricant supplied, as Alarm Lock's instruction sheet WI1822A asks.

Resetting the lock

Erase All Programming returns the lock to its factory master code and deletes every code. It starts with disconnecting the battery pack in the inside housing, so it is done from inside the door.

From Alarm Lock's programming instructions (OI209D, 3/25) and the instruction sheets bound with them, the door template (WI838D) and the DL2700 spec sheet (ALA129K), all listed under Documents. Install to the instructions in the box, and keep the code worksheet somewhere safe, as Alarm Lock advises.

What else does the Alarm Lock DL2700 need?

A standard DL2700 needs nothing else on a door with a standard cylindrical prep: the key override cylinder, latch, both strikes and the batteries come with it. These parts cover a 2-3/8 in backset, thin doors, remote release, extra lockdown keyfobs and fitting your own cylinder.

Questions about the Alarm Lock Trilogy DL2700 Keypad Lock

How many user codes does the Alarm Lock DL2700 hold?

The Alarm Lock DL2700 holds 100 user codes: 10 manager codes and 90 basic user codes, plus one master code and three one-time service codes. Codes are 3 to 6 digits, and every code has the same number of digits as the master code, so choose that length first.

What batteries does the Trilogy DL2700 take, and how long do they last?

The Trilogy DL2700 takes five AA alkaline batteries, supplied, which Alarm Lock rates at up to 5 years or 200,000 cycles, typical; the DL2700LD is rated at 3 to 4 years or 100,000 cycles. When they run low the lock sounds a high-low tone and flashes red, and it keeps its programming when the batteries are changed. An external 7.5 V DC supply can run it without batteries.

Can the DL2700 be keyed to my existing system or take an interchangeable core?

Yes, both. The standard DL2700 comes with an SC1 keyway key override cylinder and spare tailpieces that fit Schlage, Corbin Russwin CL, Sargent 480, ASSA 65-611, Ilco and Lori cylinders, so a cylinder from your system can go in. The DL2700IC takes a 6 or 7 pin core from Best, Arrow, KSP, Medeco Keymark or Kaba Peaks, and Alarm Lock makes IC preps for Schlage, Corbin Russwin, Sargent, Yale and Medeco cores. The core is not included.

Can the Trilogy DL2700 be used outdoors?

Yes. Alarm Lock's current T2 series sheet says every Trilogy is now weatherproof as standard, from -31 to +151 °F (-35 to +66 °C), so the old DL2700WP part number is no longer needed. On an outside door Alarm Lock asks for the connectors to be sealed with dielectric grease or the silicone lubricant supplied.

Does the DL2700 keep an audit trail or work with software?

No. The DL2700 is programmed at its keypad only, and Alarm Lock lists no audit trail for it. Alarm Lock's audit trail models, such as the DL3200, are separate part numbers we can quote. Networked Trilogy models are not sold here.

What door thickness and backset does the DL2700 fit?

The DL2700 fits doors 1-5/8 to 1-7/8 in thick with a 2-3/4 in backset as standard. A door bored at 2-3/8 in takes the S5980-1 latch, and Alarm Lock makes extended locks for thicker doors and a spacer set for doors 1-3/8 in or less. Tell us the thickness and backset and we confirm the part in writing.

How do I reset a Trilogy DL2700 if the master code is lost?

Alarm Lock's programming instructions give an Erase All Programming procedure that returns the lock to its factory master code and deletes every code. It starts with disconnecting the battery pack in the inside housing, so it is done from inside the door, and every code then has to be programmed again, starting with a new master code.

How do I order the Alarm Lock DL2700?

  1. 1Choose the part number. From the table above, or send a photo of both sides of the door, the old lock and the lock edge, and we identify what fits.
  2. 2We confirm it in writing. Lock type, cylinder, core prep or keying, finish, door thickness and backset and, for a mortise model, the door hand, with the price and the total including shipping, the same business day.
  3. 3You approve and pay. Prepaid. No account and no minimum order. Unused stock items can be returned within 30 days with a 25 percent restocking fee; installed items and special orders cannot.
  4. 4It ships direct. From a US distributor warehouse, tracking on every box. Stocked items ship the same or next business day after payment; special-order parts are quoted with their lead time.
