Send a photo, get a quote

Send a photo of the failed hardware. We identify it, spec the correct replacement, and quote it the same business day.

How a photo becomes a part number

Send a photo of the failed hardware and the door it sits on, with the ship-to ZIP code, and we come back the same business day with the part number, grade, finish, price and lead time. No account, no credit application, no minimum order.

  1. 1Send a photoThe failed hardware, the door it is mounted on, and the ship-to ZIP code. Close enough to read any stamped marking is ideal, but send what you have. If you already hold a part number or an old invoice, put it in the same email.
  2. 2We identify and specMake, model and function from the markings, the mounting pattern and the dimensions. Then the correct current replacement with the right grade, handing and finish for the door it is going on, checked against what our distributors hold in stock.
  3. 3You approve and it shipsThe written quote arrives the same business day with the part number, the specification, the price and the lead time on it. Approve it, pay, and it ships direct from the distributor that holds it, with tracking on every box.

What makes an identification fast

  • A photo of the hardware itself. Most commercial hardware carries a stamped or cast marking on the body, the faceplate or under the cover. That marking is the shortest route to the right part.
  • A photo of the whole door. It tells us the opening type, the swing and often the handing without you having to work it out.
  • The ship-to ZIP code. It decides which distributor warehouse ships and therefore the lead time.
  • How many you need. Identical doors usually take the identical part, so one identification covers the whole set and the quote comes back as one line rather than ten.
  • Whether it has to match existing keys. If yes, tell us the keyway. Keyed orders cannot be returned once cut, so we confirm this in writing first.

Not sure which way your door is handed? It does not matter for the quote, we will work it out from the photo. If you want to check yourself, the door handing chart takes about ten seconds.

The quote carries everything you need to approve it

One email, written so it can be checked against the door before anyone pays.

Part number and specification The manufacturer’s current part number with the grade, the function, the finish code and the handing spelled out, so you can hold it against the door before you approve.
Price and lead time Prepaid, with card as the default. Bank transfer is offered on larger orders and clears in 4 to 6 business days, so a bank-paid order ships after it clears rather than the next day. Lead time is stated per item.
What we confirm in writing before it ships Handing, finish and keying on every handed, keyed, keyed-alike, cut-key or voltage-selected item. You confirm by reply, then it ships. Non-handed, non-keyed items skip that step.

Sales tax: we are not registered to collect in any state, so none is added to the quote. A business buyer may have its own use-tax obligations.

Answered within one business day, usually the same afternoon US Eastern, with no account required.

    Questions buyers ask first

Do I need a part number?

No. The photo does the work. If a part number is stamped on the hardware or printed on an old invoice, include it and the identification is quicker, but the quote does not wait on it.

How fast is the quote, and how fast does it ship?

The quote goes out the same business day, usually the same afternoon US Eastern. Once approved and paid on a business day, the order ships the same or next business day, after written confirmation where handing or keying applies. Ground delivery takes 1 to 4 business days anywhere in the contiguous US, and 1 to 2 to most metro addresses.

Can you quote several doors at once?

Yes. For a multi-door job on existing openings, send the door list and we spec the hardware set per opening and price the whole job; the contractors page shows what to include. For a portfolio, keyed alike across buildings and property specifications kept on file are covered on the property managers page.

A description is often enough to start

Tell us what the door is used for, what the hardware does, what failed, and anything stamped on it. That usually narrows it to a few candidates and tells us which photo would settle it. Email sales@latchfordhardware.com and we reply within one business day.
